One might think that the back lanes of Jalan Sultan in Kuala Lumpur would be deserted in the wee hours of the morning, but that is far from the case.

A street market, commonly known as Pasar Karat — literally meaning “rust market” — operates here and it only comes to life when the majority of people are snug in bed.
