Back-lane bargains at Jalan Sultan

Clothes, trousers, shoes and other miscellaneous items are available at the street market.

One might think that the back lanes of Jalan Sultan in Kuala Lumpur would be deserted in the wee hours of the morning, but that is far from the case.

A street market, commonly known as Pasar Karat — literally meaning “rust market” — operates here and it only comes to life when the majority of people are snug in bed.
