BENTONG: Classic Malay dishes with a twist awaits diners at Kembali Kitchen as it showcases its Hari Raya buffet spread with an international touch.

“Comprising over 50 traditional local Malay delights and international favourites, there is something for everyone,” said Grand Ion Delemen Hotel executive chef Sam Khaw.

One of the main highlights is the Ketupat Goreng Kampung dish.

“Unlike the traditional way of serving ketupat with rendang and curries, our culinary team decided to present a unique blend.

“We decided to give the rice cakes a twist.

“We stir-fry it with vegetables, egg, oyster sauce as well as freshly-grounded spice paste,” Khaw said.

Those craving for seafood can opt for Seafood-On-Ice station, which serves bountiful fresh tiger prawns, flower crab and green mussels, pairing with lemon wedges and dipping sauce.

Khaw said another of the specialities was Baked Chicken Percik with Coconut and Turmeric Sauce at the carving station.

“To evoke the nostalgic flavours of Malay cooking, the chicken is marinated overnight with exotic spices and mixed herbs.

It is then slowly baked for about two hours to retain its juiciness.”

“Diners should also try out the smoky chicken and beef satay.

“They are grilled to perfection and served with peanut sauce,” he said.

In addition, the buffet also features a pasta station where diners can choose their preferred ingredients.

The chef will then cook up an appetising dish for the guests.

Other highlights include a salad counter, aneka jeruk, aneka keropok, soup station, variety of fruits, traditional kuih and bubur jagung.

The two-day special Hari Raya buffet is available on June 5 and June 6 from 6.30pm to 10.30pm.

It is priced at RM118 nett for adults and RM59 nett for children, aged 11 and below, and senior citizens, aged 60 and above.

There is a 15% discount for early birds, who place bookings before May 31.

Hotel marketing and communications manager Eva Ho said hotel guests were also entitled for complimentary indoor parking.

She said they can also choose to take a free hourly shuttle to First World Entrance (Sky Avenue).
