HUGE platters of flower crabs cooked with clams are bound to be a crowd-puller at a buka puasa buffet.

This was indeed the case as the tempting crab offering cooked in three different styles lured diners over to the Asian Style Shell Out Seafood station at The Pearl Kuala Lumpur.

Spicy, sweet, buttery, tangy, zesty – these were just some of the adjectives that came to mind when describing the crab dishes.

“There is spicy crab, butter crab and Chinese style – there is something for everyone,’’ said hotel marketing and communications manager Nora Ismail.

“The chefs also put a lot of vegetables into the dishes, such as corn and broccoli cut into huge chunks for the added crunch,” she added.

The crab treat is just one of the many mouthwatering dishes available for diners during Ramadan at the hotel in Jalan Kelang Lama.

The buffet includes all things local and traditional for those who crave a taste of home as well as Western and Asian fare.

For some added excitement, the food stations at the pool side will see chefs cooking and preparing local delights on the spot.

A preview of what can be expected from the hotel’s Ramadan fare definitely did not disappoint guests who tried the abundance in variety.

Let us just say that guests were not disappointed.

Also obviously popular were the rojak and pasembur stall, do-it-yourself kerabu stall as well as the barbecue stations.

“The spread called ‘Sajian Warisan Nusantara’ is prepared by 19 chefs who took over one month to select what they wanted on the Ramadan buffet. I think diners are going to be pleased,” said Nora.

“We even have the Raya spirit station serving dishes such as Gulai Kambing, Gulai Daging, lots of ulam and traditional Malay dishes that are sure to be nostalgic for some guests,” she said.

Diners are encouraged to make use of the special promotion of the Ramadan vouchers, priced at RM72+ per person when buying from the hotel’s sales personnel.
