Ginseng Roasted Chicken is a takeaway option.

CHINESE NEW YEAR is a time to celebrate with family and friends over hearty meals, leaving diet plans to take a back seat.

Malaysians also love hosting parties and open houses but cooking can be an uphill task, especially if the guest list is long.

This year, Tropicana Golf & Country Resorts wants to relieve guests of the “cooking drama” as it has readied three affordable set menus for one’s festive catering needs.

The Health menu, priced at RM48++ per person, has four appetisers such as Crispy Prawn Crackers with Pickled Vegetables, Fortune Wanton, Chicken Lobak and Fried Beancurd Skewers with spicy chilli dips.

There are also six dishes on the main course; steamed rice, Steamed Barramundi Fillet with Ginger, Hong Kong Choy Sum with Mushrooms and Garlic Flakes, Golden Pineapple Crispy Chicken, Salt and Pepper Squid and fried kuey teow.

The menu also features two desserts of tropical mixed fruits and assorted Nyonya kuih.

The Harmony menu is priced at RM68++ person and Happiness menu is tagged at RM108++ per person.

Pan-fried carrot cake is among the dishes served at the live stations.

The Harmony menu features two additional appetisers of Spicy Sichuan Chilli Lamb and Chilled Octopus with Cucumber Rolls while the Japanese Beancurd with Minced Chicken dish is added on to the main course.

Customers will also get an extra sweet treat as executive chef Lawrence Lim will be preparing chocolate brownies, mango cake and strawberry cake for those opting for the Harmony set.

In the Happiness set, diners will not only be trying out appetisers similar to the Harmony menu but they can expect dim sum as well.

Homemade wonton soup with prawn wonton, baby pak choy and scallion is available in this set.

All menus come with mixed fruit rojak and orange juice.

Each menu also has complimentary dishes such as apam balik, pan-fried gyoza, pan-fried carrot cake, soup noodles, fried nian gao and ais kacang at the live stations.

For every 10 persons, a complimentary yee sang platter will be served at your party or event.

There are three types of yee sang – Yee Sang with Smoked Duck, Yee Sang with Smoked Salmon and Tropical Fruit Yee Sang priced from RM48++ onwards.

“This year we also offer the Prosperity Big Pot Luck with superior soup, mixed vegetables, grouper, prawns, scallop, squid, and a choice of noodles,” said Lim.

Customers can add premium side dishes of XL prawns, sea cucumber or abalone. Each pot luck package starts from RM208++.
