BROTHERS Mohd Zaki and Mohd Shahizam Lazim have been selling roti John since 2014.
They initially opened Daddy’s Roti John to earn extra income but decided to operate the business full-time soon after.
“We only sell roti John at this outlet in Bukit Indah, Ampang,” said Mohd Zaki, the elder sibling,
He said their omelette sandwich is different from others because of the paste used.
“We make our own chicken and beef paste from fresh minced meat.
“Customers love our roti John as we put half a cup of mozarella cheese on the bread,” said Mohd Zaki.
The price of their mozzarella roti John is RM10.
They offer six varieties of roti John, ranging in price from RM6 to RM12.
They have also diversified by introducing garlic bread sandwiches at the beginning of the year.
“Although the roti John made us famous, we wanted customers to have something else to try,” said Mohd Zaki, adding that there are six flavours.
When asked if they wanted to start a franchise, Mohd Zaki said he might branch out on his own under a different name.
“I’ve been thinking of opening a food truck and handing over Daddy’s Roti John to my younger brother,” he said.
The brothers run Daddy’s Roti John single-handedly.
“Business is good because we work well as a team,” said Mohd Shahizam.
Daddy’s Roti John operates from 5pm to 11pm, at Jalan Bukit Indah 5, Taman Bukit Indah, Ampang, from Sunday to Thursday.
