The full-moon-celebration for babies will be extra special with sweet and treats from Weil Hotel.

Recognising the importance of the ceremony in Chinese customs, the hotel’s bakery created something new and trendy for guests for the special occasion.

According to Chinese customs, traditional treats such as ang ku cake and red eggs are to be served and given to all guests to celebrate the baby’s first full month of life.

Hotel marketing communications and public relations executive Miki Tan said Bakery@Weil is going beyond tradition by offering an array of both traditional and modern treats.

“Our signature Full Moon package comes with two red eggs which signify a new birth and renewal, or two pieces of ang ku cake symbolising longevity.

“There are also a selection of five sweet and savoury tarts.

“Alternatively, parents can choose their preferred pastries from our Full Moon menu to create their own set of Full Moon package,” Tan said during a preview of the offering on Wednesday.

Tan said the signature package is priced at RM48 nett per box and is available all year.

The pastries available are Red Egg, Strawberry Tart, Mix Berry Tart, Mushroom Quiche, Ang Ku Cake, Chocolate Eclair, Macaron, Chocolate Praline, Opera Mousse Cake, Walnut Tart, Quiche Lorraine and Brownies.

Those who buy 30 boxes and above will receive three more boxes for free.

Tan also introduced the Asian Buffet Lunch featuring 10 different courses in a buffet spread for people to indulge.

Served at the hotel’s Tiffin Restaurant, she said the buffet lunch serves a sumptuous spread that is true to the taste of Asia.

“The main course varies from Tandoori Lamb, Pan Fried Tilapia with Cherry Tomato, Basil and Tomato Coulis, Barbecue Short Ribs, Grilled Lamb Shoulder Rogan Josh, Pan Fried Beef Tenderloin with Cream Peppercorn Sauce, among others,” she said.

Other than the main course station, Tan said there are also the salad station, noodle station, chicken rice stall as well as desserts.

The Asian Buffet Lunch will be exclusively available from noon to 2.30pm from Monday to Friday at RM36 nett (adults), RM32 nett (senior citizens) and RM28 nett (children aged five to 12).

Guests may try different dishes everyday as the menu is set on a rotation basis.
