SENAI: Have a blast from the past with food such as ayam masak lemak cili padi or asam pedas served straight from a tiffin carrier.
The set meals, available at Impiana Hotel’s The Tiffin coffeehouse, are served from 10.30am to 11pm daily.
Hotel marketing and communications manager Aidah Abd Rahman said the hotel wanted diners to enjoy the dishes served in the traditional stacked food carriers for a nostalgic feel.
“Diners can choose from two main dishes for the set and the choices available are ayam masak lemak cili padi cooked in spiced coconut milk, bird’s eye chilli and potatoes or asam pedas for that tangy taste of red snapper cooked in spicy sambal paste with fresh herbs and vegetables,” Aidah said.
All dishes in the tiffin set come with steamed rice or soft rolls, a choice of two side dishes and clear soup.
The selection of side dishes are omelette, ulam set with sambal belacan, potato croquette or fried siew mai, which would also be served in a tiffin.
Besides these sets, the coffeehouse serves a variety of local favourites such as kerabu mangga or green mango salad, mee goreng mamak, sup kambing Batu Pahat and pandan chicken.
Alternatively, diners can enjoy meals or tea at the business class hotel’s three other food and beverage outlets including at the poolside.
The nine-floor hotel has started operations and is expected to open officially on Oct 10.
Customers can enjoy a room rate of RM210 nett until the end of October for a deluxe king or twin room.
