NEW additions to Neroteca’s menu will lure pork lovers to celebrate the joys of bacon, Italian sausages and ribs.
Their antipasti – the delectable Grand Rustic Platter is perfect for sharing – with four types of salami and four rich cheeses that include taleggio and gorgonzola.
A must-try on the menu is the burrata with cherry tomatoes and fresh basil.
Burrata cheese, when it is made from buffalo milk, is slightly more sour than regular cow’s milk cheese.
It may be an acquired taste, but the tartness of the cheese complements the cherry tomatoes and is great for anyone who craves an authentic taste of Italy.
Neroteca is also known for its home-made pasta.
The Green Tortellini stuffed with Italian Pork Sausages and Potato is both flavourful and filling, which makes it a perfect meal for small eaters.
For those craving fresh bounty from the sea, the Black Fettuccine with Seafood in Rosemary Pesto is an ideal choice.
While squid ink pasta is commonly paired with a tomato-based sauce, the fragrant rosemary pesto here is a welcome change and makes the dish less heavy.
The pesto complements the fresh mussels, making this a hearty carbohydrate-rich dish that pairs well with a glass of Riesling wine.
Crafted by Neroteca’s head chef Mirko Lanini from Florence, Italy, the new main courses boast a couple of pork dishes with stunning technique and style.
One of their best-sellers is the Pork Ribs Alla Maremmana.
“The pork ribs sit in a marinade of tomatoes, cloves, bay leaves and Italian herbs, and are slow-cooked in the oven for seven hours.
“This is to make the pork tender and juicy,” he said.
True enough, the aromatic and delicious meat peels off the bone effortlessly and is the right balance of sweet and spicy.
Another main course winner is the tenderloin pork wrapped with smoked bacon in white wine sauce.
The good-sized portions are wrapped in crispy bacon and sit on a bed of creamy and buttery mash potatoes.
You must end the meal with the Classic Tiramisu.
This cloud-like dessert of mascarpone and espresso infused sponge cake is the perfect end to your feast.
