FEAST like a king this Christmas season as a variety of meat dishes take centre stage at Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral’s Nook restaurant.

Throughout the festive month until Jan 1, chefs at Nook will be cooking up a storm to fill up the chafing dishes with an enticing buffet spread of traditional Western favourites.

“It’s going to be an interesting meal with a variety of beef, lamb, duck, chicken, turkey and seafood dishes which I am sure will satisfy the cravings of meat lovers,” said the hotel’s executive chef Phoebe Donko-Hanson.

The menu, which is specially crafted by Donko-Hanson herself, feature traditional family recipes.

One of her specialities is the Honey and Pineapple Glazed Turkey Ham Brisket Loaf, which she recommends as it is a traditional dish which she used to savour while growing up.

“Back home it is a dish we will have on Christmas Day, every year, but we use pork ham instead of turkey ham,” she said.

However, she assured diners that the flavour and taste were similar and just as good as the ones she had in her family kitchen.

Apart from that, the chef has included roast lamb, beef ribs, rotisserie chicken and leg of lamb to be enjoyed with a variety of condiments such as garlic butter sauce, creamy Parmesan spinach, giblet gravy and cranberry sauce.

“So, we have a heavy serving of dishes on one side and a lighter choice on the other like the baked salmon or steamed seabass,” she said.

Donko-Hanson said the vast variety on the buffet line would guarantee that there was something for every diner to feast on during the festive month.

To balance things out, the kitchen brigade is also presenting local dishes namely Chinese, Malay and Indian cuisines.

Beef rendang, ayam percik, Sarawak laksa, honey sesame chicken and lamb vindaloo are just some of the dishes on the buffet line.

“Our buffet area might not look as spread out and big as other restaurants but our cozy little corner is filled with more than 100 dishes on rotation every night,” she said, adding that the caramelised brussel sprouts were a must-try.

Diners can also customise their own coffee or tea at the drink station as the coffee machine allows caffeine lovers to brew their drink according to their preference.

There are also a variety of tea flavours for those who enjoy tea.

Pecan pie, lemon meringue pie, cappuccino cheesecake, butterscotch trifle and the American chocolate cake are among the sweets to look out for.

The dinner buffet spread is priced at RM120 nett per adult.
