Embark on a gastronomic journey around Europe


Roast Turkey is among dishes featured in the buffet spread at Impiana Hotel.

THE Impiana Hotel in Ipoh is set to appeal to the most discerning of tastes with its sumptuous buffet menu during the Yuletide and New Year celebrations.

Young junior sous chef Mohd Aminuddin Abdul Rahman is leading the gastronomic affair with traditional Yuletide delights of Europe.

Besides featuring various delectable dishes from Italy, Germany, Spain, France and England, there are also traditio-nal offerings that include local delights to cover all tastes and palates.

The ‘European Flavour X’Mas Eve Dinner’ offers more than 50 dishes on the buffet menu.

The starter is the ‘Deep Blue Seafood On Ice’ with Tabasco, lemon wedges and cocktail sauce to go with the mussels, prawns, clams and cockles.

Its main dish ‘World Cuisine’ will comprise Chinese Fried Rice, Indian Fish Curry, Braised Lamb, British Fried Chicken Pop Corn and Roast Duck.

The combination encompasses a myriad of flavours that are sure to delight diners.

As Christmas dinner will not be complete without a carving, the special of the day will be Roast Beef Loin.

Besides the temptations mentioned, there will also be offerings like Valencian Seafood Paella and Grilled Marinated Octopus from Spain; Ratatouille and Seafood Bouillabaisse from France; traditional Roast Whole Turkey and Chicken Pie from England; a selection of pastas from Italy; and Beef Goulash and Chicken Cacciatore from Germany.

One can also find traditional Christmas sweets and candies under the roof of the Impiana Hotel’s Coffee House.

Chef Mohd Aminuddin is preparing 12 different Christmas desserts.

Among them are the must-have Christmas Cinnamon Star Cookies, Fruit Cake, Stollen, Yule Log and French Christmas Eclair.

The heavenly temptations will surely round the day off nicely.

The Coffee House is also serving a special Christmas drink in a cheerful Santa mug.

The drink is priced at RM15 and diners can take the mug home after indulging in the concoction of Sprite, ice-cream and grenadine syrup.

The price of the dinner is RM78 nett for adults, RM58 nett for senior citizens and RM40 nett for children.

Early bird bookings by Dec 20 cost only RM68 nett per person.
