PAMPER mummy dearest with a delectable international spread, fabulous activities and gifts at Ixora Hotel’s The Great Mama Buffet Lunch this Mother’s Day on Sunday.

The hotel in Prai, Penang, is laying out the red carpet for mothers at the buffet lunch at its The Straits Cafe & Lounge.

Besides the buffet spread, the hotel will provide mothers with free make-up and lip spa by Mary Kay. There will also be a cake decorating contest and an exclusive performance by the hotel’s employees.

Tuck into a wide array of refreshing appetisers and salads like kerabu papaya boat and smoked fish platter as well as soups such as yam duck and cream of tomato (with bread and butter) to start off the meal.

Mains consist of longevity noodle with vegetable, ayam percik, beef rendang tok, roasted lamb shoulder with garlic sauce, fish papilote, Indian curry prawn, stir-fried squid kam heong and braised Chinese cabbage with mushroom and vegetarian dumplings.

Adding to the selections are action stalls comprising mee Jawa, chee cheong fun, Hainanese chicken rice, Gurney Drive rojak, ice kacang with condiments and muar chee.

To wrap up a satisfying meal are sweet desserts such as pandan layer cake, blueberry cheese cake, chocolate devil cake, green tea profiteroles, coffee cream caramel, strawberry mousse in glass and macaroon.

The price of RM68nett for adults and RM47nett for children also include iced honey lemon tea. Mothers will also receive a stalk of complimentary fresh carnation and a special gift each.

For Father’s Day on June 21, the hotel will have a Famiy Set Menu of RM250nett (4-5 persons) or RM350nett (6-8 persons) and an 8-Course Set at RM650nett (10 persons).The set meals will be available from noon to 9pm on that day. Diners can add on a 1kg cheese cake at only RM70nett. Advance booking is required.

Ixora is also holding two promotions for Thai food enthusiasts.

One is its Thai Award Prestige Menu by executive sous chef Willy Soon who was one of the winners at The 3rd Thailand Culinary World Challenge 2015.

The three-course meal consists of yum nuea yang makhuea proa (grilled beef tenderloin with aromatic Thai eggplant salad), gaeng liang goong (herbal soup with twin mushrooms, young corn and prawns) and chu chi pla kraphong (wok deep-fried red snapper fillet with traditional Thai chu chi sauce).

Served from noon to 10.30pm daily, the set is priced at RM53nett each. There is now a ‘Buy 2 Get 1 Free’ promotion for the set until July 31.

Alternatively, there is the Thai Buffet Lunch at RM40nett for adults and RM28nett for children and senior citizens (aged 60 years above) for May and June. There is also a ‘Come 4, Pay 3’ promotion for the buffet but for adults only.
