PERAK police has not received new direct threats issued by Islamic State (IS) militants, but investigations of suspects linked to the group further possible threats, says Perak police chief Comm Datuk Hasnan Hassan.

Stressing that threats posed by IS were real, Comm Hasnan said the force needed to remain vigilant and be prepared for every possible scenario, especially with Merdeka celebrations coming up.
