CONTRIBUTING to charity can be done in many ways, even by owning the new specially designed Touch ‘n Go cards.

Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd (TNGSB) has launched its corporate social responsibility programme, “TNG Cares For You”, whereby every RM1 from the sale of the specially designed card will be channelled to four organisations – Projek57, Mercy Malaysia, Charity Right and the Lost Food Project.

TNGSB chief executive officer Syahrunizam Samsudin said the campaign aimed to promote humanitarian awareness within the community.

“We hope to share this awareness with the public and the company is giving assistance to our partners to support their causes.

“The company is also promoting a healthy lifestyle by supporting Projek57’s Cycling Unity Ride as we believe that a healthy body is a happy body and will boost productivity,” Syahrunizam said at the launch of the campaign at The Symphony Walk, IOI City Mall, Putrajaya.

Each card has an image closely resembling that of the organisations with four messages – “Care for Humanity”, “Care for the Hungry”, “Care for Unity” and “Care for Community”.

Syahrunizam and cycling teams from TNGSB and Projek57 also launched the Cycling Unity Ride in conjunction with the Kuala Lumpur Car Free Morning at Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur.

The group rode 57km from the starting venue to their first pit stop at IOI City Mall.

The launch also saw TNGSB handing over a mock cheque for RM30,000 to Projek57.

Several booths were placed at the The Symphony Walk where the charity organisations shared their visions and objectives with visitors to the mall.

The TNG Cares For You cards will be sold at the normal retail price of RM10.60.

It functions as a Touch ‘n Go card and users can enjoy the e-payment experience at toll plazas, rail network, parking and retail outlets.
