IN one of the worst traffic jams on Penang island, thousands of motorists heading to work in Bukit Jambul, Bayan Baru and Bayan Lepas were caught in a massive snarl when Jalan Paya Terubong was closed to traffic after a trailer laden with piling columns stalled in the middle of the road.
Motorists from Air Itam and Bandar Baru Air Itam who turned back to use Lebuhraya Thean Tek and Lorong Batu Lanchang were caught in another massive jam as they headed towards Jalan Masjid Negeri.
