MIRI: A monthlong exhibition displaying the artwork of a local artist, Abdul Kadir Bisnoor, is currently being held at state library (Pustaka Miri) until Aug 13.

The event will appeal to Abdul Kadir’s fans and those who admire water-colour paintings.

Abdul Kadir, an architect from Bekenu, has a deep interest in art since he was young.

He majored in Fine Arts under the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme at Mara College, Banting and has a bachelor’s degree in architecture.

The artist has participated in a number of group exhibitions in Kuala Lumpur and his paintings are currently on display in various corporate offices and institutions.

Abdul Kadir presented 42 paintings, which can be purchased at the exhibition.

Pustaka Miri organises art exhibitions such as this to support local artists, in line with its mission to preserve Sarawak’s intellectual heritage.
