Tandem cycling gives the visually impaired joy of riding without fear


Pilot riders taking the lead on tandem bikes with the visually impaired participants taking the back seats before the flag-off.

SOME 1,000 cycling enthusiasts in Penang sacrificed their Sunday morning sleep to take part in the City of Dreams Ride which was flagged off as early as 6am.

Among them were 18 visually impaired people from the St Nicholas Home for the Blind who rode on tandem bicycles with the assistance of pilot riders.
