THE annual Visual Arts Expo (VAX2017) is back for the third year to invite creative-minded people to collaborate and network with other content creators and the public.

This year, VAX2017 will be held on July 21 and 22 at Shah Alam Convention Centre (SACC) .

VAX2017 aims to be the one-stop event for creative people to gather and present their ideas and portfolios, and find the opportunity to expand their business and services to reach larger markets outside Malaysia.

The expo targets school-leavers, fresh graduates, young adults and entrepreneurs and will present a wealth of content in various forms, including animation, comics, video games and music, to be shared with visitors and creative industry players from Japan, Europe and the US.

“VAX2017 will further build upon the success it garnered from the previous two editions to further connect and nurture relationships.

“Thanks to local successes such as Les Copaque and Lemon Sky Studios, Malaysian creative professionals are getting propelled to the world stage,” said VAX project director Fazri Nuha.

The Special Interest Panels will be held during the two-day event, where fans can come in and present their content to the public.

Guest speakers for VAX2017 will include Masumoto Kazuya from the acclaimed Studio Trigger.

Also attending are Studio MAPPA animation supervisor Ito Noriko, animator and character designer Hiramatsu Tadahashi as well as independent script and scenario writer Masafumi “Pierre” Sugiura.

Closing the event is Ai “AiRI” Miyake, who will share her music on stage.
