Ops Selamat patrols along North-South Expressway


Firemen of the Rapid Intervention Motorcycle unit and First Responder fire engines unit will be patrolling a 54km stretch along the North-South Expressway near the Kedah-Perak border.

THE Fire and Rescue Department are carrying out round-the-clock patrol along a 54km stretch in the North-South Expressway this festive period.

Its Penang director Saadon Moktar said 30 officers had been patrolling the stretch between Sungai Muda Bridge (near Kedah border) and Bandar Baharu (near Perak border) since Sunday in an operation codenamed “Ops Selamat”, which will end on July 2.
