IPOH Parade shopping centre is treating shoppers to yet another colourful and vibrant Ramadan bazaar this year.
Back for the second year, there are 16 booths offering shoppers a diverse range of traditional and modern delicacies as well as Hari Raya-themed apparel.
Performers Adibah Noor, Misha Omar and TV personality Baki Zainal made their appearance to entertain the crowd during the launch of the campaign themed Irama & Melodi Aidilfitri, held alongside the bazaar.
One of the highlights was the Fashionista Aidilfitri Ipoh Parade, a competition that saw contestants dressing up to the Hari Raya theme.
To hype up the festive touch, another line-up of local celebrities also performed over the weekend, among them Malaysian Idol 2004’s first runner-up Dina Nadzir, girl group De Fam and celebrity siblings Aliff and Aishah Aziz.
Apart from these, the event also included cultural dance performances, special promotions and offerings by participating outlets.
Shoppers should also look out for a redemption campaign featuring a uniquely designed Hari Raya Turkish plate, those who spend a minimum of RM168 in a single receipt from May 29 to June 25 will be able to redeem it. Tourism Perak Management Bhd chairman Datuk Mohamad Kamil Shafie was present to launch the bazaar.
“With this event, I thank Ipoh Parade for enlivening the Ramadan and Hari Raya mood in Ipoh.
“This provides an alternate platform for shoppers and traders alike to shop and sell their wares apart from going to the usual bazaars in the city,” he said, lauding the shopping centre for its contributions to the community.
Kamil said he hoped the bazaar would attract more shoppers and tourists.
“Not only can this be a place to foster closer bonds among Ipoh folk, it also promotes Visit Perak Year 2017.
“This would, no doubt, benefit the state and strengthens its position as a tourism destination in the eyes of the people,” he said.
