Labour Department’s ruling on new business


KUCHING: Any person or employer who proposes to operate a business in agricultural, forestry or industrial undertaking must notify the Labour Department within 90 days of commencement of business.

Sarawak Labour director Jack Meredu Ko said beginning November, the department would enforce Section 60A of the Labour Ordinance (Sarawak Cap 76), where employers must also give notice on any takeover of business or change of name or location.
