THERE has been a 19% increase in micro-biological contamination level found on food sold at Ramadan bazaars last year.

In a study conducted by the Perak Health Department Food Quality and Safety Department, it was found that 75 out of 237 (31.6%) food samples taken in 2016 violated the food hygiene regulation, compared to 12.7% (16 out of 127 samples) in 2015.
