KUCHING: An array of gastronomic delights, ranging from local to western and Italian food, are available at Merdeka Palace Hotel and Suites Ramadan buffet.
The annual buffet in conjunction with Ramadan month will be held from May 27 till June 24, 6pm till 9.30pm, at its Aurora Court and Ristorante Beccari restaurant.
The hotel’s culinary team would present more than 100 varieties from local favourites to international specialties aside from its signature spit-roasted whole lamb.
“Our Ramadan buffet spread starts with sweet Tunisian dates and appetiser counters filled with various types of fresh ulam-ulaman, jeruk (pickles), acar, umai and assortment of kerabu, and lots more.
“Among the must-try hot dishes are bubur pedas, nasi briyani gam with mutton, umbat kelapa masak lemak, honey chicken masak merah, kuzi kambing, deep fired Telapia with sweet chili sauce,” Merdeka Palace Integrated Marketing and Communications manager Mohd Arshad Hasseri said.
He added that there would also be live-cooking stations and live kitchen stalls, where food would be freshly prepared right in front of the guests. Among the dishes included Sarawak laksa, lok-lok, mini burger and Roti John.
Italian and western fares such as its well-known wood-oven pizzas and pastas with sauces such as carbonara, bolognese and napolitana are also available at the Ristorante Beccari, which will be open for the Ramadan buffet by June 5.
“Do indulge in our DIY (do-it-yourself) counters and make your very own ais kacang. Lastly, round up your meal with assorted French pastries, traditional deserts namely bubur kacang hijau, pengat pisang and bubur cha cha,” Arshad added.
The buffet is priced at RM90 per adult, while for children aged 4 to 12 years is RM40. Senior citizens aged 60 years and above enjoy a price of RM75.
