Goal to boost schools in rural areas

Zambry (third from left) presented cheques totalling RM4,000 to Salleh (second from right) in recognition for being awarded Tokoh Kepimpinan Guru 2017 at the state-level Teachers’ Day celebration at Universiti Teknologi Mara Seri Iskandar. With them are Mat Lazim (left), State Education Committee Chairman Datuk Muhammad Amin Zakaria (second from left), State Secretary Datuk Seri Abdul Puhat Mat Nayan (third from right) and State Islamic Education Committee Chairman Datuk Mohd Nizar Zakaria.

NO LONGER wanting to see them left behind, the Perak government hopes to transform schools across the state that are lagging in terms of academic and extracurricular achievements.

To achieve this, Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said the Education Department has been directed to identify the schools to be included in a special project spearheaded by the state.
