INSPIRED by the rainforest, footwear brand Lewré Bespoke launched its Gorgeous Lush collection in conjunction with Ramadan.
In a bid to do their part for nature, the brand will donate 10% of the sales to Pertubuhan Pelindung Khazanah Alam Malaysia (Peka).
At the launch in Shah Alam, guests had the chance to preview the collection before it was made available to the public.
The event was graced by the Sultanah of Pahang Sultanah Kalsom.
Speaking to the press, Lewré founder and executive chairman Datuk Lewré Lew said he met Peka president Puan Sri Shariffa Sabrina Syed Akil a few years ago and became aware of her efforts in conserving the environment, which spurred him to do his part.
“10% is nothing, as it’s very little to help the environment. I just want to raise awareness.
“Nature is our treasure. Malaysia has beautiful tropical rainforests but people take things for granted.
“The air we breathe, the water we drink, it’s all from nature. If we kill nature, we kill ourselves,” he said.
Speaking about the Gorgeous Lush collection, Lew said he drew inspiration from flora and fauna, as well as the flow of the river and the smell of nature.
There are 25 designs in the collection.
“I have always been inspired by nature. Among the key pieces of the collection are the ones with butterfly designs.
“I want women to look gorgeous all the time and be confident. When you are confident, you look good,” he said.
In her speech, Shariffa Sabrina said, “I hope that through this collection, people will be reminded of the majesty of nature and be aware of its depleting beauty.
“I also hope the fashion industry will be inspired to evolve sustainably, to source for sustainable materials and promote lasting fashion and designs.”
She is also an eco entrepreneur who runs a chain of eco resorts, mostly in Pahang, that promote authentic nature tourism experience in rainforests.
Founded in 1997, Lewré Bespoke has actively participated in global trade fairs and London Fashion Week with the aim of being the face of haute couture footwear.
The collection retails between RM2,000 and RM6,000.
