THE warm climate and intermittent rains is ideal for the Aedes mosquito to breed, which explains the surge in dengue cases in Selangor.

State Health, Welfare, Women and Family Affairs committee chairman Dr Daroyah Alwi said an infected mosquito can spread the disease with just one bite and it is crucial for people to remove containers around their homes that collect water as such items can become breeding sites.
