KOTA KINABALU: Growing up in Kampung Manduin which is about 40km from the remote northern Sabah town of Pitas, Suin Ming Tosong’s fascination with the violin began since young when he first saw a professional performance on television.

Although born to a farming family, the 19-year-old has beaten the odds and made his dream a reality when he took to the stage at the National Department of Culture and Arts auditorium here on Friday.
