THE state government has given out RM235,000 in Ehya Ramadan contribution to 226 mosques and surau in the state.
Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said they gave RM5,000 to the state mosque and RM2,000 each to five of the district mosques.
He said the 220 ordinary mosques each received RM1,000.
“We will continue to give out the aid as long as we are the ruling state government,” he said after presenting the aid to the representatives of mosques and surau at Masjid Merbau Kudong in Sungai Dua, Tasek Gelugor recently.
Also present were Deputy Chief Minister l Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon, state secretary Datuk Seri Farizan Darus, state Religious Affairs and Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Committee chairman Datuk Abdul Malik Abul Kassim, Penang mufti Datuk Wan Salim Wan Mohd Noornang, Penang Amanah chairman Datuk Dr Mujahid Yusoff Rawa and Permatang Pasir assemblyman Datuk Mohd Salleh Man.
