Two-day carnival in Sri Muda draws crowd with various activities

A silat demonstration during the two-day carnival.

TAMAN Sri Muda residents had a fun-filled weekend at the Karnival Rakyat Bestari that saw some 2,000 people attending.

Held for two days, the event saw residents, especially children, participating in a number of fun, sports activities including colouring, coconut bowling and archery.

About 40 traders set up stalls during the carnival.

The event was organised by the office of Sri Muda assemblyman Shuhaimi Shafei in collaboration with Shah Alam City Council’s (MBSA) Zone 9 Residents Representative Council (MPP).

Shuhaimi said he was happy to see residents associations, Rukun Tetangga and non-governmental organisations coming together.

Visitors were also treated to a special martial arts demonstration by exponents of silat, tai-chi, muay thai and silambam.

Also present were councillors Ruthira Surasan and Tan Ah Kow.
