CIMB Group returns as presenting sponsor of The Colour Run in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Jakarta this year.
First launched in 2011, The Colour Run is a unique paint race that has been experienced by more than six million runners in more than 40 countries.
The untimed five-kilometre fun run has runners showered in coloured powder with each city featuring a unique theme.
The three runs in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Jakarta are expected to attract at least 35,000 runners.
Dubbed the “Happiest 5k on the Planet”, the run is not a race, but instead celebrates everyone in pursuit of health and happiness as winners, while bringing the community together.
“The Colour Run has a strong following and we are thrilled to sponsor the event at not just one, but three cities within CIMB’s regional network this year,” said CIMB Group chief executive Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Aziz.
“This colourful event aptly reflects Asean’s diversity, the exact quality that CIMB embraces and promotes in its vision to become the region’s leading universal bank.”
Attracting people from widely varied backgrounds, and marked by hich-octane fun themes and a non-competitive element, The Colour Run’s growth has seen individuals, groups and communities embracing it with much enthusiasm over the years.
“I look forward to having a great time at all three Colour Runs, which provide a fun platform for CIMB to engage with its customers and local communities, and to demonstrate how we continue to support their different lifestyles and goals through our new brand promise – ‘Forward’.
“I’m confident that participants are in for an exciting and memorable experience and happy that CIMB is playing a role in celebrating Asean’s wonderful diversity with all the participants of The Colour Run across the region,” said Tengku Zafrul.
The Kuala Lumpur edition of the run is expected to attract 13,000 runners and will take place at Padang Merbok on Aug 13.
Its “Tropicolor” theme will showcase a series of brilliantly coloured zones featuring tropical arches, palm trees, island-style music, and even a “beach”.
Registration for the run in Kuala Lumpur is open at www.thecolorrun.my. The registration fee starts from RM90 per participant, with special packages for families and children.
CIMB Bank debit and credit cardholders enjoy 20% discount off the entry fee, subject to terms and conditions.
