Firm gives back to society in kind

The anniversary saw a big get-together of its bosses, staff and guests in Sitiawan.

E-COMMERCE company SEA Gamer Mall Sdn Bhd decided that its 10th anniversary celebration should also be about sharing the fruits of its success with the surrounding community.

The company donated a covered basketball court to SJKC Uk Ing, Sitiawan.

Other beneficiaries of the company’s generosity were the Sitiawan Settlement Museum which received RM100,000, and CAC Children’s Home Foundation (Manjung) which received RM5,000.

SEA Gamer Mall Human Resources Manager Fifi Lim said Tan Sri Vincent Tan, who is an investor in the company, handed over cheques to the beneficiaries’ representatives.

Also at the event was the company’s founder and chief executive officer Wong Ong Hua, 43.

Wong, who is a Universiti Teknologi Malaysia graduate in electrical engineering, founded his business which sells computer games through the Internet with one computer in his house in Kampung Cina, Sitiawan. Wong operated the business from home for the first three years.

Lim said the company now has a staff head count is 104, in Malaysia, China, Indonesia and Thailand.
