AFTER an active morning, Ipoh Starwalk 2017 participants can boost their energy levels by savouring the goodness of the popular Milo chocolate drink.

Nestle Products Sdn Bhd will be contributing cups of Milo beverages and bowls of Nestle’s Fitnesse cereal meal during the May 7 walk.

Nestle Products Northern Region Shopper and Consumer Engagement Department Manager Mohd Ismail Osman said the company is happy to support the event as long-distance walking is a good form of exercise and is suitable for all ages.

“Not only do we want to promote a healthy lifestyle – an idea that goes hand-in-hand with Ipoh Starwalk – but to also encourage bonding among family members.

“People ranging from every type of profession and age group will come together during this day, and we want to be a part of it by letting people enjoy our tasty, healthy products,” he said after handing over the contribution to The Star’s representative Cheryl Yew on Wednesday.

In advocating the belief that you are what you eat, Mohd Ismail said this makes Nestle’s Fitnesse breakfast cereal the ideal food to munch on after walking, as it is made with 57% wholegrain, containing 10 vitamins and minerals including calcium and iron.

“With this cereal, we also want to promote a healthy diet to all Ipoh Starwalk participants, especially among the women.

“This is because research has shown that women who eat more wholegrains tend to weigh less and are less likely to gain weight over time,” he said.

Mohd Ismail added that there are three types flavours available to cater to different preferences: Nestle Fitnesse & Fruit, Honey & Almonds, and The Low Fat Whole Grain Cereal.

Ipoh Starwalk participants will be flagged off on May 7 at 7am at Perak Turf Club in Jalan Raja DiHilir.

The walk is organised by Star Media Group in collaboration with Ipoh City Council, Perak Education Department and Perak Athletic Association.

The platinum sponsor for the walk is telecommunications company YES.

Silver sponsors are Chek Hup, Julie’s, Counterpain, F&N, Federal Oats, Sports Toto, Sanctband Active and Spritzer.

Perak Turf Club is the official venue provider and Weil Hotel is the official hotel of the walk.
