SPORTS Toto Malaysia Sdn Bhd is always game to show its support when it comes to sporting events.
This time around, they are doing so by coming aboard for the first time to support the Ipoh Starwalk 2017 as a Silver sponsor.
Sports Toto communications manager Giam Say Khoon said the company would sponsor T-shirts, cash and lucky draw prizes, worth RM30,000 for the walk.
It will be flagged off at the Perak Turf Club on May 7 at 7am.
Giam said the prizes included three bicycles, an LED television set and household appliances.
“We hope the participants will have a great time at the walk and get to take home some of the prizes.
“We are very supportive of many sporting events. The reason is simply because we want to fulfil our efforts to promote healthy lifestyles and the Ipoh Starwalk is a well-known event that attracts thousands of participants, so it is our pleasure to come in as a sponsor,” said Giam, adding that the company also has its own annual Sports Toto Cross Country Run.
“We are happy that we are able to also give something back to the people of Perak,” he added.
Giam said Sports Toto would also be sending a team of volunteers to man its booth during the event.
“We are looking at sending a team to take part in the walk next year,” he said.
The walk is organised by Star Media Group in collaboration with the Ipoh City Council, Perak Education Department and the Perak Athletic Association.
The Perak Turf Club is the official venue provider while the official hotel for the event is Weil Hotel.
The platinum sponsor is telecommunications company YES.
Apart from Sports Toto, the other Silver sponsors are Julie’s, Chek Hup, Spritzer, Counterpain, F&N, Federal Oats and Sanctband.
The entry fee is RM13 per person, inclusive of GST.
