TAG Heuer shows watch enthusiasts what it is like to keep up with the times through its latest Connected Modular 45 model.
In Malaysia, the watch brand followed Flycycle instructor Alando Atkinson for 24 hours, capturing his dynamic lifestyle and how the second generation smartwatch model complements his every move.
It was only fitting that for its launch, the watch brand invited guests to Atkinson’s workout class to experience a snippet of what he does on a regular basis.
“What the video shows is exactly how I’d use this watch, it is very much suited to my sort of lifestyle that puts together sports, social media and the like.
“Everything is online and it’s extremely useful,” said Atkinson.
The video follows him as he goes about his daily routine, from exercising to working, and shopping to social events.
With the modularity of the watch, it enables him to personalise the functions and style to fit his needs in different circumstances and environment.
LVMH Watch & Jewellery Malaysia Tag Heuer sales director Celeste Lee said the watch model steps into a whole new market segment.
“Currently, there isn’t a smartwatch of this capacity in the market.
“The Connected Modular 45 allows you to easily switch between a digital watch, mechanical watch or a tourbillon watch.
And as the name entails, Lee said the watch is very flexible and users can also play around and change the clasps, lugs and straps.
Couple that with 30 different dial options that come with the watch, she said it can make about 4,000 different style combinations in one timepiece.
“The watch is also the first Swiss-made modular smartwatch in the world,” Lee added.
The Connected Modular 45 runs on Google’s Android Wear 2.0 system for a more seamless user experience.
It is co-engineered with Intel, is water-resistant to 50m and GPS enabled.
On top of its high-definition AMOLED screen, the watch also features a near field communication (NFC) sensor for payments. This function, however, is not applicable in Malaysia.
The Connected Modular 45 is crafted with titanium, ceramic and rose gold. The retail price starts from RM7,350.
