LUCKY draws, games for children and adults, and a colouring contest are among the activities lined up for the inaugural Selangor Indian Entrepreneur Fair (SIEF) at the SK Rawang school field in Rawang on March 25 and 26.
Organised by the Persatuan Kebajikan Social Ratnas Selangor, the fair seeks to promote up-and-coming social entrepreneurs as well as give an insight into loan opportunities for Indians.
“Besides creating business opportunities for the Indian community in Rawang, we want the fair to be an exciting one,” said organising chairman Bhawani Nair G.
She said a display of big-capacity motorcycles and superbikes, as well as Indian cultural shows, would be lined up for visitors.
“We want everyone to have fun here by creating a carnival-like atmosphere while helping local business entrepreneurs to increase their income and promote their businesses to the public.
“We have 100 booths that include government agencies such as the Employees Provident Fund, National Registration Department, Fire and Rescue Department, Social Security Organisation (Socso), Selayang Municipal Council and National Blood Bank, and even banks for those who want to apply for loans.
She said some 10,000 visitors were expected to attend the fair.
“The booths are reasonably priced to make it affordable for new Indian entrepreneurs who are just starting up their business,” said Bhawani.
The booths are priced from RM350 to RM450 each with a refundable RM50 deposit. It includes a tent, two tables, two chairs, a power supply, a fan and lights.
The sponsors are Personaa Kreatif Resources, Malaysia Kalai Ulagam, MindAppz and VSM Sharline Enterprise.
