No trading in residential units

SOME 800 traders in commercial areas in George Town, Penang, who are still using residential premises for business have until Dec 31 to convert the building’s status to commercial use.

Penang Island City Council Licensing and Public Health Standing Committee alternate chairman Ong Ah Teong said these traders had applied for a trade licence, but their applications were rejected because the premises’ usage was residential and not commercial.
