KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s local radio station – KupiKupifm, will be holding a free concert and lucky draws at the Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA) hall in Penampang to mark its first year anniversary.
The 7pm-to-11pm concert on March 18 will feature more than 20 local artistes and an Indonesian band, Repvblik.
Local artistes set to entertain guests during the concert include Adex, Esther Applunius, Sharin Amud, Evaritus Gungkit, Felix Agus, Nubornmusic, Velvet, Francis Landong, Den Bisa, Mary Intiang, Loytive, Jestie Alexius, Bamboo-woods from SMK Tamparuli.
Kupikupifm programme manager Lester Miol said this concert was the radio station’s way of saying thank you to their supporters.
Apart from the concert, there will also be other activities for everyone starting at noon.
Visitors stand a chance to win attractive lucky draw prices including television set, cash vouchers, and return air tickets.
“To make it a more family-oriented event, we have Singgah Kupikupifm which starts at 12pm so that our fans can enjoy a carnival-like atmosphere prior to the concert,” Miol said.
He said there would be food stalls, entertainment by a local busker group, Adin the Clown distributing free balloons to the children and other activities by the Kupikupifm Cruiser team.
Miol said KupiKupifm first went on air in 2016.
He added that it was the only local station that played more than 80% authentic Sabahan songs.
