Cashless rides in the offing

Rapid Penang’s proposed automated fare collection system will use the reloadable MyRapid smart card.

RAPID Penang commuters can opt to go cashless when they use the bus services come August with the introduction of the automated fare collection system using the MyRapid smart card.

Its chief operating officer Mohd Azmi Abdullah said the smart card using electronic chip can be bought and reloaded at Rapid Penang’s kiosks in Lorong Kulit, Weld Quay Terminal, Komtar, Bukit Jambul hub, Sunshine Bertam, Penang Sentral and Summit Bukit Mertajam, in Penang.
