Stern action needed against overloaded lorries

Cement mixer and overloaded lorries are doing damage to Jalan Cheras Perdana that was upgraded only last year.

HULU TERENGGANU: The Federal Government has been asked to intervene and prevent heavily overloaded lorries transporting iron ore to the Kuantan port in Pahang from damaging the Hulu Terengganu-Gua Musang road.

Terengganu Industry and Trade Committee chairman Datuk Tengku Putera Tengku Awang said although enforcement operations were often carried out against the iron ore operators, they are undaunted by the light penalties.
