“A total of 939 of those detained tested positive for various drugs,” he said, adding that 13 of them were detained under the Dangerous Drugs (Special Preventive Measures) Act 1985.

Supt Jokhiri added in the most recent case, a married couple, both aged 41, were nabbed for distributing ganja in Pasir Gudang here.

He said police had raided the couple’s rented house and found some 73.66kg of ganja worth RM180,000.

“The ganja was found in their bedroom,” he said during a press conference.

He added the male suspect had previous criminal records and also tested positive for methamphetamine while the wife’s urine samples proved negative.

Police also confiscated a Proton Inspira worth RM70,000, a Perodua Viva worth RM30,000 and cash of RM1,500.
