Customs thwarts smuggling of goods worth RM3.8mil

SIBU: The Royal Malaysian Customs Department has thwarted attempts to smuggle in RM3.8mil worth of rice, beer and tyres placed in a total of 36 containers.

Its assistant director for enforcement, Datuk Paddy Abdul Halim said the seizures were made on two occasions at the end of last year at the Rejang Port Authority here, following a tip-off.
