Tunku Ismail to attend Thaipusam gathering

JOHOR BARU: Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim will be celebrating Thaipusam with the people in Masai, Pasir Gudang.

State Unity and Human Resources Committee chairman R. Vidyanathan said the Tunku Mahkota Johor would be representing his father Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar at the event on Feb 9.

He said Tunku Ismail had agreed to attend the Sri Subramaniar Paripalana Saba Masai Temple Thaipusam celebration at 12.30pm at SJK(C) Masai on Thaipusam which falls on Feb 9.

Vidyanathan said it was an honour for the people to celebrate the festive occasion with a member of the royal family two years in a row.

Last year, Sultan Ibrahim also attended the Thaipusam celebration.

“Johor is lucky to have such a caring Sultan and royal family that responds positively towards the Indian community,” he said in a statement.
