Chew: Caretakers encouraged to go for training


Chew said if those who have left the shelter homes require counselling from the Ministry

DEPUTY Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun says the Government encourages those who run shelter homes to undergo trainings which will enable them to provide better care for the children.

She said the ministry would study the need to make it compulsory for those running private shelter homes to go for training. “It is compulsory for the teachers and minders of all the kindergarten and childcare centres in the country to go through the Permata Childcare Course. After that they can be a registered operator.
