SPM and STPM school leavers, confused about which career path to take, can browse for options at the maiden Penang State Education Fair 2017.
The fair will be held at the Chai Leng Park multi-purpose hall in Butterworth on March 25 and 26 from 11am to 6pm.
It will feature 60 booths set up by various educational institutions.
Deputy Chief Minister II Dr P. Ramasamy said the initiative was aimed at bolstering ambitions among the young.
“It is important to give students exposure to all the fields they can take up.
“The fair will be a one-stop place for them to learn all about various institutions and the courses they offer,” he said at a press conference at Komtar recently.
Dr Ramasamy said the fair was organised by the Penang State Economic Planning Division with PenExpo Events Sdn Bhd as the event manager.
PenExpo Events managing director Francis Wong said officers from PTPTN would be conducting a seminar at the fair on how to apply for study loans.
“There are booths still available for institutions that are interested in joining the fair.
“We expect a crowd of between 5,000 and 10,000 as the fair falls a few weeks after the SPM and STPM results are released,” he said.
