WITH a drum roll and the clang of a gong, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur (KL) ushered in the Year of the Rooster in an elaborate manner with the launch of its festive campaign.
Themed “Rise To Opulence”, the festive campaign features a majestic golden phoenix suspended above the Centre Court, symbolising the transformation of the humble rooster, synonymous with notions of pride and beauty.
“Festivities are celebrated by all Malaysians. An event like this presents a golden opportunity to bring everyone together, united in one spirit,” said Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.
“We, at Pavilion, believe in welcoming everyone regardless of race or religion, to join in the merriment as racial harmony is truly unique to Malaysia,” added Pavilion KL Retail chief executive officer Datuk Joyce Yap.
At the launch, guests and shoppers were treated to a dragon dance, an exuberant percussion performance by the Orang Orang Drum Theatre and a rousing acrobatic lion dance by the World Champion Lion Dance Troupe Kun Seng Keng.
Not only were the people awed by the phoenix figure, the display also made it into the Malaysia Book of Records as “Malaysia’s Largest Phoenix Replica”.
This year, shoppers can also do their part to give back to society by purchasing the “Dance of Prosperity Rooster” decorative plate through the mall’s “Charity at Heart” corporate social responsibility initiative.
Priced at RM1,288 each, the plates feature an intricate handpainted design of a rooster by master craftsmen from Turkey and are available in pearl, gold or silver finishes. Only 650 pieces of the limited-edition plates are available.
Those who are interested can check out the Rooster Gallery and visit the Porte Cochere Concierge at Centre Court, Level 2 for details. Proceeds will be channelled to old folks' homes and charitable organisations nationwide at the end of the campaign.
Shoppers can also pose for photos with the spring flowers and a 3D Sunsilk bottle for a chance to win prizes.
The mall also has several fun activities such as acrobatic lion dances, Diabolo dances, drum performances, a Kung Fu Yoga meet-and-greet session and a Rooster Arts and Crafts bazaar.
Shoppers who spend RM300 in a single receipt at specialty stores can redeem Prosperity ang pow packets while UnionPay cardmembers can redeem a TWG Tea gift with two cumulative receipts of RM800 with UnionPay card.
Meanwhile, the top 20 spenders during the campaign period can win a VIP bespoke breakfast tea experience at TWG Tea.
