KEMAMAN: Following the success story of the Kampungku insurance scheme, the Agriculture Ministry plans to introduce a “crop insurance” which will compensate farmers who lose their crops because of natural disasters or disease.
Its minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, said the planned scheme will benefit farmers nationwide and that they were currently looking at different models to ensure the scheme was properly implemented.
