ELECTRIC vehicle (EV) owners visiting 1 Utama Shopping Centre can now recharge their batteries at the mall’s new EV charging station.

The fully-automated station, equipped with a Delta charger, is located on the fourth floor of the mall’s Oval carpark entrance near Cellini furniture store.

“This latest service is part of our on-going green initiatives and is exclusive to Onecard members.

Shoppers are required to tap their Onecard 3.0 on the terminal to activate the charger and continue following the instructions displayed on the screen.

“We only have one bay at the moment, but if there is encouraging response, we will gradually increase the number of bays,” said 1Utama Shopping Centre public relations manager Lee Li Lian.

The charging station is brightly painted in green and has interesting facts on using EVs. The service is complimentary to Onecard members only.

Shoppers are required to tap their Onecard 3.0 on the terminal to activate the charger and continue following the instructions displayed on the screen. Tap the card on the terminal again to deactivate or stop charging.

Lee added that there would be a security counter near the charging station to assist EV owners.

Those who have not applied or upgraded to Onecard 3.0 can do so at the mall’s customer service centres or concierge.
