Showcase of Sarawak’s diverse races and landscape

Visitors to the gallery are treated to cultural performances.

KUCHING: Art enthusiasts and collectors can now view the Cultural Splendour art exhibition at Galleria, Wesberly House Rubber road from now until Feb 10.

Showcasing the art work by 22 artists from Sarawak, the exhibition features culture and heritage of Sarawak’s diverse races and landscape.

A total of 60 pieces of paintings and sculptures by young artists such as Angelina Bong, Deborah Teo Linang and renowned veteran artist Raphael Scott Ahbeng are exhibited. Works by international sculptor from Ireland and expert batik artist Narong Daun are also displayed.

National Art Gallery Malaysia newly appointed board member Melton Kais thanked the ministry of tourism, culture and arts for their support in Cultural Splendour exhibition.

Present during the launch of the exhibition was National Gallery board member Datuk Taib Ali and Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry permanent secretary Datuk Ik Pahon Joyik.

Ik Pahon encourages all artists to work with the ministry to promote culture and heritage of Sarawak through art.

Galleria is open from 8.30am to 5.30pm every Monday to Friday and 9am to 12pm on Saturday. It is closed on Public Holiday.
