IT WAS a memorable day for about 80 children from Pusat Jagaan Al Faizin and Rumah Nur Hikmah on Dec 13 as they received goodies from Pos Malaysia under its “Back to School” programme at Pos Malaysia in Menara Dayabumi.
Each child from the homes received two sets of school uniforms, bags and stationery.
“We hope that by providing the basic necessities, these children will look forward to the new school year as well as uplift their spirits to work hard in achieving success in life,” said Pos Malaysia Group chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh.
After a heartfelt performance by the children from Pusat Jagaan Al Faizin, the children received goodie bags and were later treated to tea.
They were also taken on a fun tour around the Kuala Lumpur General Post Office and the stamp gallery.
By allowing the young children to experience the day-to-day life of a postal personnel and discover the various stamp collections, Pos Malaysia believes that it can instil the healthy stamp collection hobby among them.
Mohd Shukrie added that collecting stamps was a good investment for children as they could use the stamps to fund their education in the future.
Besides being actively involved in charity, Pos Malaysia constantly introduces innovations to maintain its relevance and competitive edge and one such effort is the expansion of its integrated parcel centre (IPC).
In order to accommodate customers' demands, Mohd Shukrie said Pos Malaysia was working on the development of IPC at the National Mail Centre in Shah Alam.
“Pos Malaysia will also upgrade its existing sorting centre at the KL International Airport in Sepang into an IPC,” he added.
