MIRI: Miri City Council has unveiled its official app featuring a full range of Internet-based services.
The app not only enables Miri folk to deal with the council online but also features important news and information about Miri.
Mayor Adam Yii said Miri City Council was among the first local authority in the country to have an official app.
“The app provides important details on Miri and the council services.
“The app contain directories for food, entertainment, tourist sites as well as Miri and world news,” he said at the Miri City Apps launch here.
Yii said the app would be beneficial to Miri folk and tourists alike.
“People can enquire about hotels and accomodation services, public transportations, eateries, health centres, medical facilities, and shopping and entertainment venues.
“We will also have a platform for the public to lodge complaints on urgent issues.
“For example, if they come across dirty eateries in Miri, there is a site there where they can lodge their report to the officers in charge of hygiene and public health,” Yii said.
Businesses such as eateries and hotels were also encouraged to use the app to promote their services and products online, he added.
Those who want to be featured in Miri City Apps should register with the council as soon as possible.
