IF YOU enjoy food and games, then the Casuarina@Meru Hotel in Ipoh has just the thing for you.
To celebrate the New Year, the hotel has come up with a “Hunting Buffet” concept where diners will need to hunt or search for the food.
The hotel’s Executive Chef Mohamed Azli Mat Ali said it was something like a treasure hunt that participating diners would need to look for the food to win prizes.
“The New Year celebration is supposed to be fun and we want to give our guests and diners something fun and different.
“The emcee will call out a name of the food and diners will look for it. They can win food or hotel stay vouchers if they are the first to bring back the food,” he said during a food review at the hotel on Wednesday.
“The food, which are all labelled, will be scattered around the Executive Club on the second floor,” he said.
“Diners who don’t wish to participate can just enjoy the food,” he added.
The dinner buffet will be held on Dec 30.
A spread of about 200 variety of food would be available to choose from, including prime steer ribs, stir fry ostrich, Fine de Claire oysters, roasted venison saddle, seafood, local cuisines and desserts.
Hotel sales director Sabrina Ahmad Tah said the buffet is priced at RM88 for adult while children would need to pay RM40, which also includes a party pack and sparkling juice.
“There will be a 10% early bird discount for those who book and make full payment before Dec 28.
“There would also be a lucky draw and countdown to New Year’s day, with a great view of fireworks that would be shot from the Bulatan 18,” she said, adding that walk-in guests are also welcome.
